BALANCE
Our physical therapists are all experienced in the treatment of balance
disorders. Balance is a function of combined automatic functions including
strength, flexibility, position sense and the vestibular system, posture
alignment and sensation.

physical therapy:
- Neuropathy and other Neurological
Conditions

- Loss of Balance Due to
Aging and General Weakness

TREATMENT
Treatment begins with a comprehensive balance examination to
determine the cause of balance dysfunction. Through our battery of tests,
we are able to determine if the cause is due to vestibular, positional
or visual problems. Functional training for balance enhancement includes
the use of balance exercises and balance tools including the K.A.T. balance
trainer which employs the use of a moving platform and visual biofeedback.
Balance boards, beams, Swiss gymnastics balls, foam rollers, B.A.P.’s
board, fitter, treadmill, elliptical trainer, compliant surfaces, trampolines
and Pilates equipment. Adjunctive orthopaedic treatments are sometimes
necessary to remediate postural imbalances.
