TREATMENT
Treatment begins with a comprehensive balance examination to determine the cause of balance dysfunction. Through our battery of tests, we are able to determine if the cause is due to vestibular, positional or visual problems. Functional training for balance enhancement includes the use of balance exercises and balance tools including the K.A.T. balance trainer which employs the use of a moving platform and visual biofeedback. Balance boards, beams, Swiss gymnastics balls, foam rollers, B.A.P.’s board, fitter, treadmill, elliptical trainer, compliant surfaces, trampolines and Pilates equipment. Adjunctive orthopaedic treatments are sometimes necessary to remediate postural imbalances.
